Dhakshan’s journey into the world of cinema began with a dream of becoming a hero in Tamil films. His passion for screenwriting, direction, and film production led him to work on his debut project, Kapaḷiharam (2022), where he also penned the dialogues. Despite challenges, Dhakshan describes filmmaking as a powerful form of expression, combining creativity, technology, and perseverance. He believes in the transformative power of cinema and its ability to drive social, economic, and cultural conversations.
Born and raised in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Dhakshan graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dhanraj Baid Jain College, Chennai. Like many aspiring professionals, he began his career modestly, working as an accounts assistant in a wholesale cement business. Later, he moved to Dubai, UAE, where he gained further experience as an accountant.
Dhakshan is a proud father of two children—his son Surya and daughter Shreeja. He named his son in memory of a dear school friend, showing his deep value for relationships and emotions that define his personal and professional journey.
Apart from filmmaking, Dhakshan has also shown prowess as a screenwriter and dialogue writer. His work on Kapaḷiharam in 2022 stands as a testament to his creative writing abilities.
